Our Guides Set Us Apart

Athlete, naturalist, entertainer, medic, mechanic, historian, storyteller, and chef are among the things we expect our guides to be. Often they are much more. What you can expect from The World Outdoors' guides is an acute attention to detail and a natural ability for inspiring fun, fostering camaraderie, and creating the perfect vacation for you. They're special folks whose infectious enthusiasm for people and the outdoors makes the difference between a good trip and an extraordinary one.

Trina's Portfolio:

Lisa Feuerstein

Ever since she was little, Lisa has felt at home in the outdoors; she'd spend hours splashing around the neighborhood creek, turning over rocks to observe and collect bugs, climbing trees to read her favorite books until the sun set...and would almost always return home to dinner covered in dirt. It's no surprise that she aspired to pursue a degree in geology and a career in adventure travel, where she has set her heart on sharing the beauty and serenity of nature with others. Lisa has led young adults on cycling, multi-sport, and community service trips in Hawaii and Cape Cod, designed and implemented a backcountry adventure program for a summer camp, and now has found her niche working for The World Outdoors since 2012.

When she's not guiding, Lisa loves practicing yoga, bicycle touring, strummin' on the guitar and traveling domestically and internationally. In addition to her various guiding certifications, Lisa is also a certified Yoga Instructor. She also loves to write, and you can read about her recent bicycling trip across the country on her blog Lisa is thrilled for another exciting season with The World Outdoors and looks forward to reuniting with old friends and meeting new friends on their next adventure!

Claire Little

With the Marin Headlands at her back door, Claire grew up hiking and constantly covered in dirt. She spent all her awkward years in the pool as a competitive swimmer, water polo player, and, occasionally, open water swimmer. When she moved to Colorado in 2006 her hobbies grew to higher elevations to include backpacking, fly fishing, biking, and skiing. After being chained to a desk for one excruciatingly long year she pursued a career in the outdoor industry to turn her passions into a living. She loves to feel like a small part of something grand when exploring the world outdoors and revels at the chance to experience this with all who are open to the moment. She looks forward to sharing quirky stories, profound moments, adrenaline rushes, good food, and lots of laughs on your next trip.

Andy Keck

The past few years have found Andy bouncing around various towns in Idaho, Colorado, and a plenty of places in between. To label him as being “from” somewhere would be disrespectful to his spirit, beliefs, and practices. He generally spends any free time chasing dry rock, dry dirt trails, and soft snow. When the sun goes down, look for him around a campfire reading about current happenings on the environmental stage, or howling at the moon with an out-of-tune guitar in hand.

While he used to rate jobs based on the off-time schedule they afforded, Andy learned a new way of being when he started at The World Outdoors. Now time is universal, as work and time off are measured on the same plane. Not a day goes by, both on and off work, that doesn't find him basking in a sort of Elysian glow, laughing at his place in life. He is excited about sharing and spreading his passion for all things outdoors with anyone nearby. In short, he absolutely loves his job.

C.J. Mauro

Even as a young child, CJ enjoyed outdoor activities. Whether camping, skiing or rock climbing, he enjoys sharing the skills he learned in his youth. When CJ was 13, he traveled to Utah and met a tour guide who made his trip one he would never forget and it inspired him to pursue the same career. He worked hard through his adolescence to develop skills in rock climbing, mountain biking, trekking, alpine touring, skiing, and many other adventure sports. In the beautiful mountains of Vermont, he attended Lyndon State College and received a bachelor’s degree in Mountain Recreation Management. He is also a certified Wilderness First Responder, PSIA, Rock wall instructor, and mountain bike tech. For his post-university internship, he worked for the Military to foster camaraderie in returning units by guiding maneuvers through high ropes courses, rock climbing, disc golf and back country skiing. He then went on to work for Winter Park Resort as a Level II Ski Instructor and as a guide for the World Outdoors. CJ truly loves his job and makes it his mission to give people the trip of their dreams.
