The World Outdoors Custom Travel
Custom Travel is our signature, premier service. With this highly personalized process, we can custom design a truly unique vacation to any of the destinations in which The World Outdoors travels. Your custom tour will be created in close collaboration with you, your family or friends to match your individual interests, needs and budget. We'll also include all the finer details and extraordinary places that might be missed when traveling in unfamiliar areas. So this year let The World Outdoors do all the planning while you sit back, relax, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
Steps for Joining a Custom Tour
- Complete
and return our Custom
Tour Questionnaire.
- Once
you have completed and returned our detailed questionnaire, call
The World Outdoors at 800-488-8483 or email
us, and we'll pair you with a Travel Planner whose expertise best
matches your interests. Together, you and your Travel Planner will
choose the activities that best match your
needs, interests, and dreams. At this time a planning fee of $200
is charged for developing your custom itinerary. This fee will be
credited toward your final payment and is non-refundable.
- Your Travel Planner will design a Preliminary Itinerary, including trip cost and dates, routes, activities, accommodations, equipment and professional naturalist guides. Upon completion of the Preliminary Itinerary, your Travel Planner will work with you to make any necessary adjustments to the itinerary. Once the alterations have been approved you will receive your final Tour Itinerary.
- After receiving the final Tour Itinerary you are ready to complete your registration. You can book your reservation with your Travel Planner with a deposit of $500 per person. Deposits can be made with a check, money order, Visa or Mastercard. Reservations made within 90 days of trip departure require a full credit card payment at the time of booking.
- Upon registration, you will receive a Confirmation Packet. The packet will include a trip itinerary, recommended clothing and equipment list, travel planner detailing information on your gateway city, a suggested reading list, and The World Outdoors trip orientation information. Please note that your trip costs are subject to change if you request changes in your itinerary after the final Tour Itinerary has been agreed upon.

General Travel Information
Travel Insurance
Because The World Outdoors adheres very strictly to our cancellation policy, we strongly recommend that you client(s) obtain travel insurance to protect them against trip cancellation due to medical reasons, loss or damage of baggage, non-refundable air transportation or emergency medical expenses. An application will be sent with your pre-departure packet or you can call 800-488-8483 for immediate coverage upon registration of your client. Note: Your client(s) must sign up for the policy within 14 days of making a deposit for their trip in order for pre-existing medical conditions to be covered.
Cancellations & Refunds
If you cancel your trip, you must notify us in writing or by fax. We calculate your refund on the day we receive written cancellation. All refunds will be processed within 30 days of your cancellation. There is a non-refundable processing fee of $100 per person for cancellation. This fee reflects only the cost of administering a reservation and is not intended to be punitive in any way. We realize the majority of those who cancel their reservations do so out of necessity. For all cancellations, we will refund you the cost of your trip less the following, per person charges:
