Costa Rica Pacific
Multi-Sport

Hike, Raft, Canopy Tour, Bike, Horseback Ride, Outrigger Canoe and Snorkel through a Tropical Paradise

Nowhere else in the world can you experience the variety of spectacular landscapes and activities in one trip than on this multi-sport adventure. Explore wildlife-rich cloud forests in Monteverde, experience cowboy culture in Guanacaste and feel the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean as you snorkel at a remote beach. Warm up in mineral-rich mud baths and hot springs, and dry off in the arid savannahs of Rincon de la Vieja National Park. This adventure also includes rafting the Pacuare's exciting whitewater and mountain biking along a remote river canyon.

Days 1-2 San Jose-Pacuare River. After a city tour of San Jose, we shuttle to the lush lowlands to brave the rapid-filled waters of the world-class Pacuare River. Adventuresome beginners and experienced rafters alike will be in awe of the magnificent canyon found on this Class III-IV raft trip.

Days 3-4 Monteverde. Visit local artisans in the community of San Juan and then walk backcountry roads to the cloud forest village of Monteverde. The highlight of our stay is a thrilling zipline canopy tour above the treetops and across the beautiful canyons. Enjoy Monteverde's "eternal spring" climate with a hike among abundant orchids and gorgeous cloud forest and a chance to see the elusive resplendent quetzal. A night hike reveals other seldom seen critters.

Days 5-6 Guanacaste-Rincon de la Vieja. We travel to the home of sabanero culture for a stay at a working cattle ranch. Ride horses to a soak in the soothing mud baths. Mountain bike singletrack to waterfalls and pristine mountain pools and hike to Rincon de la Vieja National Park's volcanic cauldrons.

Days 7-9 Sugar Beach-Liberia. The Pacific is our setting for a day of excellent outrigger canoeing, snorkeling and lounging about at the pool of our beach resort. A free day follows with options galore--from pool or beach time to shopping in nearby Tamarindo, horseback riding and more.
