Maasai Mara and Tsavo Wildlife Safari and Tana Delta Beach Multisport Tour
This 11-day fly-in safari uses a combination of lodges and tented camps in private reserves and conservation areas.
Experience the wildlife wonders of Kenya and and relax in a wilderness beachside setting.
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Your vehicle will be waiting upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and you will be driven to Fairmont's The Norfolk Hotel. This 5-star hotel is an oasis in bustling Nairobi with its own private tropical gardens--the perfect place to relax and unwind after your long flight and to prepare for your safari ahead!
Days 2-4: Speke's Camp in the Maasai Mara
A flight and game drive take you to Speke's Camp, located along the banks of the Olare Orok River on a private reserve in the Maasai Mara. This is one of the best areas for viewing wildlife in east Africa, especially for the big cats as well as the annual great migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and other plains game. Speke’s Camp has eight comfortable traditional safari tents with en-suite bathrooms with hot water. Unsurpassed game viewing, picnics and sundowners, and the opportunity to embark on an epic walking safari in the Maasai Mara are just some of the highlights of this camp!
Days 5-7: Kipalo Lodge in Tsavo
Kipalo Lodge is in stunning Mbulia Conservancy and overlooks Tsavo West National Park, the Ngulia Hills and Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. The conservancy is an important dry season area for elephant and buffalo and the birding is superb. Because Kipalo lies within its own conservation area, guests enjoy the opportunity of going on walks in the African bush (unlike in the National Parks) for sundowners and bush breakfasts. Have lunch with the game warden and listen to the rich history of Tsavo. Embark on a patrol with the game scouts to observe how they protect the Conservancy first-hand.
Days 8-10: Delta Dunes Lodge in the Tana Delta
Delta Dunes, known as “The Wild Place by the Sea”, sits at the confluence of the old Tana River estuary and the Indian Ocean. On one side of the Lodge, nestled amongst majestic golden sand dunes, stretches for 30 miles of uninhabited and uninterrupted beach, and on the other a maze of deltaic salt water creeks, mangrove forest and bush land which is a sanctuary for hundreds of species of wetland wildlife and over 280 species of wetland and endangered bird species. A multitude of activities await you including river kayaking, creek fishing, sand-yachting, guided walks, river tubing, water-skiing, birding, river cruises, sundowners & beach dinners. This is the perfect place to relax, catch up with yourself and stretch your legs after all the game driving…
Day 11: Departure for Nairobi
After three nights at Delta Dunes, feeling sun-kissed and relaxed, the Lodge will drive you back to Malindi to catch your flight back to Nairobi.
