Ecuador is a country of contrasts, remarkable bio-diversity, unique cultural encounters, and rare wildlife sightings. The Galapagos Islands feature emerald-green coves, sunken craters, tree-sized cacti, and a diversity of wildlife found nowhere else. See gigantic tortoises and swim and snorkel alongside sea lions, sea turtles and tropical fish.
Day 1: Welcome to Quito!
Arrive in Ecuador's capital city of Quito. Explore the quaint streets and cafes and enjoy the historic architecture of this colonial city. This evening we'll meet for a welcome dinner and trip welcome briefing.
Days 2-8: Explore the Galapagos Islands
Experience Charles Darwin's inspiration as we walk among gigantic tortoises; swim and snorkel alongside sea lions, dolphins, and vibrant tropical fish and witness beauty beyond belief in this exotic volcanic landscape. We explore several of the top destinations -- San Cristobal, Isla Lobos and Kicker Rock, Floreana Island, Tentoreras, Sierra Negra Volcano and lava fields, Santa Cruz highlands, Tortuga Bay, and the giant tortoise breeding center at Isabela Bay!
Day 9: Darwin Research Station - Return to Quito
The Charles Darwin Research station is a unique place to learn about the breeding and protection programs of species such as tortoises and iguanas. After an educational day, we hop on a flight back to Quito for our farewell celebratory group dinner.
Day 10: Farwell - Depart for Home
Today we say our goodbyes and return home after a truly memorable experience filled with unique activities, amazing food, and of course great friendly traveling companions.
