Morocco Multisport Tour

Cultural tours, trekking, biking, camel rides, hot air ballooning, horseback riding, surfing, and beach time from the desert to the mountains to the beaches of Morocco.

This all-encompassing adventure delivers the scenic beauty and diversity of Morocco's landscapes, an introduction to Berber hospitality and an understanding of the deep-rooted culture of its people.

Days 1-2: Marrakech

In the heart of the Red City, we're introduced to the history and culture of this centuries-old trading center. From our 17th Century guest house, we have prime access to the UNESCO Heritage Site, Jemaa el Fna main square. A walking tour of the historic monuments combined with a traditional cooking class and folk dancing performance ignite the senses for a total immersion in the exotic beauty of Marrakech.

Day 3: Marrakech-Agafy

At daybreak we journey into the desert for hot air ballooning across the expansive plains. We break bread and share mint tea in a nearby village before making our way across the desert to a small river oasis for lunch, followed by mountain biking across the undulating hills.

Days 4-6: Atlas Mountains

We depart from Marrakech in the morning and proceed into the high Atlas Mountains. Our base will be the past summer palace of the Pasha el Glaoui where we enjoy commanding views of the vertical peaks and terraced villages, sip mint tea, relax in the traditional hammam, and set out to reach mountain passes and the summit of northern Africa's highest mountain, the Jebel Toubkal.

Days 7-9: Essaouira

Some well-deserved relaxation awaits as the cooling ocean breezes greet us in Essaouira. The 18th Century former Portuguese stronghold is a combination of white-washed and blue-shuttered medina buildings, lively markets, and quaint fishing ports. We explore the expansive beaches by horseback and soak in the sunshine with an optional surfing lesson with time to relax in the sand before returning to Marrakech for our final group dinner.

Day 10: Marrakech

Our final morning in the red city might be best spent finding some last-minute souvenirs amongst the sea of souks or relaxing in the hammam before making our way to the airport for the flight home.
