Rocky Mountain Multisport Tour
Hike, Bike, Raft and Rock Climb in Colorado and Rocky Mountain National Park
Rocky Mountain National Park and surrounding wilderness areas are the showstoppers of the West! Emerald lakes, wildflower-filled meadows and old growth forests complement stunning 14,000' Longs Peak. Get ready to mix it up with spectacular alpine hiking, off-the-beaten-path biking, world-class rock climbing and whitewater rafting or kayaking on the mighty Colorado River.
Day 1: Boulder-Winter Park
Boulder is the starting point for our adventure, where we hike along the base of the Flatirons, jagged rock formations that rise abruptly from the plains, and up Flagstaff Mountain for spectacular views of the city below. Then it's on to Winter Park, where we warm up with an easy bike ride along the river.
Day 2: Winter Park
Enjoy a day of fat tire fun as we tackle the nationally acclaimed Winter Park Mountain Bike Trail System, with endless miles of designated trails. For the more intrepid, take your bike on a gondola ride up the ski hill and then hold on for the descent. Relax in the lodge's hot tubs at day's end.
Day 3: Colorado River
Today we switch to paddle power as we hop into a raft or inflatable kayaks for our journey through Lower Gore Canyon on the mighty Colorado River.
Day 4: Rocky Mountain National Park-Estes Park
Up early, we cross America's highest continuous roadway, Trail Ridge Road, with its stunning, top-of-the-world views. Here we hike through miniature wildflowers of the alpine tundra on the Old Ute Trail. The next two evenings are spent in the secluded Baldplate Inn outside Estes Park.
Day 5: Rocky Mountain National Park-Mary's Lake
An afternoon hike to pristine Gem Lake follows a morning of introductory rock climbing. Under the care of expert guides, you learn the basics and proceed to do some climbs on the rocky ridge above Mary's Lake.
Day 6: Indian Peaks Wilderness-Boulder
Trace a necklace of sapphire lakes and waterfalls within Indian Peaks Wilderness as we head to majestic Lake Isabelle at the foot of Arapahoe Glacier. We then conclude our Rocky Mountain adventure back in beautiful Boulder.
