Yellowstone Hiking Tour

Hike and Ride Horseback in the World's First National Park

Experience Yellowstone National Park as few have! Tracing tranquil footpaths, we explore a pristine wilderness of waterfall-filled canyons, rugged peaks, steaming fumaroles, spewing geysers, and hidden hot springs. Witness the wonders of nature and view bison, elk, moose, and eagles in one of the world's foremost wildlife sanctuaries. This trip is truly a "best of Yellowstone" experience.

Day 1 Lake Yellowstone. Shuttle from Jackson to Yellowstone, our nation's first national park. Stroll the boardwalks through the thermal features of West Thumb Geyser Basin on the shore of Lake Yellowstone. After lunch we tackle Elephant Back Mountain for dramatic views of Lake Yellowstone below.

Day 2 Avalanche Peak or Pelican Valley.
Head off to hike to the summit of Avalanche Peak with breathtaking, panoramic views of the craggy, snow-capped Absaroka peaks and the serene waters of Yellowstone Lake. Alternatively, roam the broad Pelican Valley, home to the seldom-seen grizzly bear.

Day 3 Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. View bison and other wildlife in pastoral Hayden Valley this morning. Then hike past little-known thermal features as we head to Artist's Point and the stunning chasm and thundering waterfalls of the Yellowstone River.

Day 4 Mammoth Hot Springs. Start the morning with a walk through open meadows of sage and stands of aspen to Beaver Ponds. The day ends with a horseback ride in the late afternoon followed by dinner across the border in Montana.

Days 5-6 Upper Geyser Basin. After a final stroll through Mammoth's Minerva Terrace, we hike along Glen Creek and up to Snow Pass in the heart of grizzly bear territory. Evening is spent watching Old Faithful's awe-inspiring performances. We continue exploring the thermal wonderland of Upper Geyser Basin's pools and geysers before concluding with a short hike to Mystic Falls.
